Gaelic in the home and early years settings in a functional yet fun way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>G\u00e0idhlig nan \u00d2g<\/strong> features a series of presentations to teach words and phrases plus supporting sound files, illustrations, songs, stories and activities, as well as a guidance document with suggestions on how best to use the resource.<\/p>\n<p>Although aimed at early years practitioners for their day-to-day interactions with children aged 0-5, <strong>G\u00e0idhlig nan \u00d2g<\/strong> will also support adult learners, including those who are completely new to Gaelic, and parents wanting to support their children on their Gaelic journey, regardless of whether the parent is a beginner learner, more advanced or fluent.<\/p>\n<p>The resource is presented in themes, including the face and body, numbers, colours, daily routines, the weather, animals and pets, outdoor learning, topical themes such as Halloween and Christmas, and nursery rhymes and traditional songs.<\/p>\n<p>It also contains a simple document that early years practitioners and parents\/carers may want to use to record observations.<\/p>\n<p>The resource has been produced by experienced It was formed in 1999 by the Scottish Executive and since then its size and output have grown considerably. <strong>St\u00f2rlann<\/strong> receives grant funding from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.scot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Scottish Government<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gaidhlig.scot\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">B\u00f2rd na G\u00e0idhlig.<\/a><br \/><br \/><strong>St\u00f2rlann<\/strong> has 17 employees based in Lewis, North Uist, Benbecula, Skye, Inverness, Kinross and Dumbarton.<br \/><br \/><strong>St\u00f2rlann<\/strong> undertakes a range of key functions within the Gaelic Learning sector including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The creation of high-quality Gaelic resources for distribution to early years education providers, primary schools, secondary schools and lifelong learning groups. The St\u00f2rlann programme is based directly on resource needs as identified by teachers, staff and learners.
